When i first saw this, i was like '' Woah''. Why in the hell in this world does anyone would give free laptops. It really did made me want to go for it. With such high internet surfing speed aid in transferring datas from comps to the world, zooom!!!!! everything would be as quick as errmm ( lightning is a bit exaggerating ) , how about camera flash XP. So i did made my move to know more about this product. I went to the ex-dome area and made inquiries about this product. Firstly, forget about the FREE laptop and modem. You are require to pay for it actually. With $45 * 48 mths ( 4 years exactly if you dont knw how to calculate ), you actually paid for the laptop and modem. Its similar to a hire purchase payment. Once you made a deal of 4 years, you are required to pay fully every month the amount. No termination is allowed. In the mean time, you are allowed a total 2Gb span and if you exceeds, you are required to pay $0.50/MB which means a song will cost you like $2 ++ dollars. But however, the maximum expense you can go for a month is like $99. After you reaches $99, you can download unlimited games , softwares and movies for free. In my opinion, the 4 year plan deal is much more worth it. Anyhow, that is up to you to decide=D. I am still considering it because E-speed had actually downgraded their rates to just $68 /mth. Pity Brunei dont have much competition or else, probably we would have high speed internet at a low price ( prolly $1/mth). Back to reality, E-speed had announced they will lower the rates again sometime during april or may. I had been a E-speed customer since 5 years ago and was actually quite satisfied excluding the laggy and inconsistent speed. Talking about speed, the Zoom! is seriously the bomb. Youtube is expected to play immediately without pause-ing. It can reach a download speed of around 300kb/second =/. WOW that means downloading a song is like 1 min unlike the usual 3-4 mins. Did you realise the speed of Zoom! is seven times faster than our old chap, E-speed xD. That really blew me off. However, it still have its own flaws. The modem is only compatible with the laptop and it means you have to surf only using their laptop. -.-)'' This problem can be solved if you buy a hard drive. Using the laptop for surfing and downloading, you can transfer the softwares and media files into your PC or otherwise, another laptop via the hard drive. Next, it is really hard to guarantee that the Zoom! is really consistent at its speed and can reach its maximum speed because subscribers would grow a lot in numbers. Ohyeah, not to forget, the Zoom! is not able to be switched on with another router and you have to stick to that modem and laptop forever=D. HAHAHA i hoped e-speed would really boost their speed up to 3.6mbps. I really did miss e-speed potential technicians instead of china-born ones nowadays introducing the stupiak HUAWEI.
